Snow Bunnies

Last weekend, for the first time since i was a child.. i went to the SNOW!

I attempted to snowboard... it was difficult, yet hilarious & had the potential to be very embarrassing, to say the least.
I had the most amazing weekend, filled with fun, great friends & suprisingly, some gorgeous sunshine!
I'll definitely be planning some more trips down there during the winter!

A new love.

Over the past few weeks, Ive discovered a new love.

I find vintage & second hand pieces of jewellery or pendants that i think are cute & make them into dress rings!

Some are one offs & others can be made a few times..

You can view/ buy them

Would love to know your thoughts!

Hope you all had an AMAZING weekend.

Mine was filled with great wine & great friends.!

SAY NO.

I admit it.

I love the look of a big fur coat & I cant imagine going into winter without purchasing one.  Even my make up brushes are made with fur..

However, from now on i will only be purchasing faux fur.  Last night while reading my cleo magazine i came across a story that horrified me.

"On a fur farm in China, a man grabs a raccoon dog by the tail with one hand and lifts it out of a crowded wire cage.  He drops the animal to the ground, only for a moment while he adjusts his grip, but its enough time for the raccoon dog to use its two front legs to kick up dust as it tries to run.  There's no point. The man lifts it higher this time, so that its dangling upside down around the man's waist level.  With the other hand, he swings a steel pipe at the raccoon dogs head.  He throws the animal to the ground.  He hits is again straight on the head. And again. He kicks it before walking off to take a look at the other animals."

However, this poor animal is still alive.  And soon there will be a row of them on the ground, dying slowly in great pain.  While skinning the animals, the workers don't seem to notice or care that some of these animals are still blinking & panting. Many of them regain consciousness during the process.
These gorgeous little animals are still alive while being skinned.

The animals are kept in horrific conditions, overcrowded cages. Many of them have distorted faces, open wounds & long term gum disease.  Many of the animals self mutilate. There are dead animals in with the live.
What's even worse is that in Asia, there is a thriving DOG & CAT fur industry, with the fur incorrectly labelled as "rabbit fur".

If you are still considering whether you would wear fur.. please watch this video

Let's say no to fur & yes to faux.

Charlie Brown 'Altered States'

Last week i was on the make up team for Charlie Brown's 'Altered States' fashion show/party
at THE CLUB, Kings Cross.

Charlie Kielty (DLM) was the make up director.
The make up look was beautiful bronzed skin ( think St Tropez ), a black line under the eye with blue smudged into it, with bronzed lids, lots of highlights, peach coloured cheeks & lips, perfectly shaped, full brows & nude nails blending into the skin.

The hair was done by a team from RAW hair salon.

We had some gorgeous models..i did Bambi's make up (above) we also had Stephanie Carta, Avril Alexander, Tallulah Morton, Laura Dundovick & one other beautiful girl who i didn't get time to chat to!

It was another fabulous night of fashion & beautiful people.

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

Last night, i kicked off my week doing make up at
Christopher Esber's show
at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, The Rocks.

Make up was fresh & muted , with a powdery pale mauve eye, with lips & brows toned down.

What a fabulous night it was! The most relaxed show i have EVER worked on... & with such a great team.

STAY TUNED!
